Mndzz Review

October 12, 2015 — by Anusha "Trillian" Sinha0

final--main

Mndzz is not just a game, it is a pure sensory delight. It is also a very difficult word to say. Mndzz has been created by the makers of Voxel Rush, which is also a fantastic game. This one would have been just like any other runner on the market but it isn’t, mostly due to the music. It is recommended that you use the best pair of headphones you have as you embark on this journey of aural delight which will also test your reflexes while you are at it.

You have the control of a cube and your mission is to dodge and weave to avoid hitting the varicoloured flashing obstacles that will come your way. The obstacles keep changing from blocks to tunnel to squares to circles. The frenetic pace demands all your concentration and will have you entirely engrossed as you try and avoid the obstacles, all the while shaking your head to the music. The design is elegant and minimalist and is really very beautiful to look at. The music changes pace with the pace of the game and this helps you to focus and really get in the groove. The only in-app purchases are rewinds and an option to remove all the ads. Each time you hit something and die, you have the option to either use one of the previously mentioned rewinds or watch an ad. This is a smart way to make everyone happy. The gamer gets to continue after only a minor inconvenience and the game developer doesn’t die of starvation.

This game is a must play for anyone who enjoys music. The music however, doesn’t distract you from your goal. It facilitates it. The spare, simple design will keep you focused on your goal. In conclusion, Mndzz is a good runner but the music makes it truly great.

Voxel Rush Review

July 7, 2015 — by Nishant "Spitfire" Maher0

Voxel Rush

This creation by HyperBees is a first-person endless-runner 3D game. Voxel Rush is evidently superfast when it comes to gameplay but minimalistic in terms of design. The dynamic nature of the gameplay however, makes up for that excessive simplicity. It’s a tough job to stay away from this game once you start playing it. The objective is easy – keep racing into infinity, dodging vertical blocks but this is easier said than done. The game throws various challenges at you, including inverted frames, falling blocks, randomly generated crevices, etc. The distance travelled translates into game money which can be used for upgrades. “Gaming at it’s best?” We couldn’t agree more.
