Destiny 2, the sequel to Destiny might be coming to PC in addition to the Xbox One and PS4

Destiny 2, the sequel to Destiny is releasing in 2017, and according to several sources it might be coming to PC too, in addition to the Xbox One and PS4.

Destiny 2 to PC

The first Destiny was exclusive to the consoles, and many a Destiny and Bungie fan were disappointed. We had actually gotten our PCs beefed up for the game, but unfortunately it never came. *sniff*

From what we’ve heard about the game so far, Bungie is planning on making Destiny 2 feel like an entirely new game. We don’t know exactly what that means, it could be just as they say; a completely new game with new characters and a new story arc, or maybe a completely different playstyle. For the time being we can’t tell.

The rumor that Destiny 2 might be coming to PC first popped up on NeoGAF. According to the post, the publisher was informing employees about the news during an internal presentation. Another interesting thing to note was that Vicarious Visions, a studio owned by Activision, was helping out with Destiny 2.

This isn’t the first time a rumor like this has emerged. If this is true, Bungie wanting to release Destiny 2 for PC is not surprising. Releasing the sequel for PC will mean Bungie now has access to a new potential market, and a huge one at that. Bungie has already ditched last-gen consoles with their recently released Rise of Iron expansion, taking care of any memory restriction problems they might have.

Bungie wants Destiny 2 to be a proper sequel, and they’re willing to ditch old planets, characters and activities to do it. If you happen to be someone who has played the original Destiny and have spent hours in the game, Bungie has not yet finalized upon whether or not you will be able to carry over your old characters or progress.
