After 613 days of being banned – according to the man himself – Tyler1 has finally been unbanned from League of Legends.
Tyler1 is a well known Twitch streamer who received an indefinite ban from popular MOBA League of Legends. The ban was an “identity-level ban”, which basically meant that Riot had banned Tyler1 the person, and not Tyler1 the account. So if any account he makes is recognised as being his, it would immediately be permanently suspended. Thanks to this, Tyler1 could no longer stream League of Legends on any platform. He has accumulated quite a large number of banned accounts over the duration of his ban.
In case you’re wondering, the ban was completely justified. Tyler has a history of verbal abuse and intentional feeding (intentionally dying to the enemy team). It’s part of his “Alpha male” persona that he portrayed on his stream, with over-the-top reactions for everything. If he doesn’t get the role or lane he wants, he just feeds. His stream also involved a LOT of yelling. However, his stream has done fairly well despite everything; the guy is entertaining. He is often among the top streams on Twitch, like during his Tyler1 invitational tournament for example.
Anyway, since his ban, Tyler1 has been making an attempt to reform himself, but many doubted if he could actually do it. But it looked like he was making effort, which resulted in #freetyler1 being spammed just about everywhere. It looks like he actually has managed it. He recently revealed on his stream that he had received an email from Riot Games that if any of the accounts he’d played on in the last month were “clean”, i.e, had not been reported or suspended at all for the duration of that entire month, he would be unbanned.

He revealed on Twitter that he would once again start streaming League of Legends starting Monday (that would be later tonight for us here in India). But hey, Tyler1 reformed. If he can do it, so can you. What a way to start the new year, eh?
