EA recently had an earnings calls where, according to Seeking Alpha, it seems that an exec “accidentally” let slip that Titanfall developer, Respawn Entertainment is set to release multiple games in 2019.
Exec in question, EA CEO Andrew Wilson said that they had new projects underway across multiple studios, “including games from Respawn that are slated to launch by next holiday season.”
The use of games here instead of game was picked up by Ryan Gee during the investor Q&A. Here, he decided to double check, just in case, saying, “It’s been a couple years since Respawn has done anything with its flagship Titanfall franchise, but I’m not sure if I heard that correctly. It sounded like we should expect games, plural, from Respawn I suppose next year. Did I hear that correctly?”
Here, EA Exec Blake Jorgensen replied, “consider that a little Easter egg left in the earnings call for you”.
He also added that they’ve got a lot of things going on across all of their studios and that one should assume that there will things that haven’t been announced which might be set to come out next year.
What we do about 2019 is that Respawn Entertainment is working on a single-player Star Wars game by the name of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, and that that is due in fall of 2019. The game is going to be set during the events that occur between Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, and Episode IV: A New Hope. We weren’t aware of any other titles the studio was working on. Perhaps another Titanfall? Titanfall 2 was quite a good game, which unfortunately didn’t see the success it deserved. In any case, we’ll just have to wait and see.
