The Taiwan Excellence Gaming Cup is back and will take place in six locations: Delhi, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai and Kolkata. Some of the world’s largest tech brands will be showcasing their latest gaming products and innovations at the tournament venues. The prize pool is also bigger this year with a total cash prize of Rs. 5 Lacs.

The tourney elimination rounds will take place as per this schedule.

Elimination Rounds

  • Delhi: 29th – 31st July, 2016
  • Hyderabad: 5th – 7th August, 2016
  • Mumbai: 12th – 14th August, 2016
  • Bangalore: 19th – 21st August, 2016
  • Chennai: 26th – 28th August, 2016
  • Kolkata: 2nd – 4th September, 2016

Grand Finale in Mumbai

  •  16th – 17th September, 2016

This year the Taiwan Excellence Cup will feature four more locations. This DOTA 2 tournament has quite the following around the world, and is back again this year for round three. The tourney is divided into two elimination rounds for each city and the grand finale will be held in Mumbai at select offline venues.

The Taiwan Excellence Gaming Cup (TEGC) is an initiative of Taiwan’s Bureau of Foreign Trade, MOEA and is being executed by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA). It’s a great way for them to showcase the technological prowess of Taiwan’s most competitive industries.

To participate, all you need to do is register at this link. However, you should note that registering does not imply that you have confirmed a team slot. Teams need to be present at the venue between 10 am and 12 pm on both days of the event in order to get a confirmed slot. Registrations will close after all slots have been filled on the second day of the event.

TEGC has been well received the past two years. So in order to make the event bigger and better this year round they’ve increased the number of locations and increased the cash prize. This year will have many big brands as sponsors including Acer, Adata, Asus, D-Link, Genius, Gigabyte, InWin, MSI, Optoma, Thermaltex, Transcend, and Zyxel and there will be a showcasing of the latest products.
