Yash Warrier and his team have created an Indian version of the Super Mario theme using classical instruments. The second-year Mass Media student from Jai Hind has been working on the Indian version of the Mario theme for a while now, and one need only look at the video to see the effort put in.

Regarding the theme itself, here’s what Yash had to say. “The music comprises of the three most popular theme-Overworld, Underworld and Underwater Theme followed by the catchy death sound and game over music.”

Yash also claimed that this is the first ever concept of its kind, i.e., the first ever Indian classic version of the Super Mario Bros. theme. One quick google search later and it seems like he may actually be right. And they did a really good job of it too, so hats off to them.

Super Mario themeFor those unaware, Super Mario Bros is the sequel to Mario Bros for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System and is one of the best-selling games of all time. It also has one of the most iconic themes ever.

Yash and everyone in his team have a strong background in Indian classical music and his YouTube channel features other Indian classical covers of various songs.
