According to a leak on Reddit, the Steam Summer Sale will run from June 22 to July 5. The Steam Summer Sale comes around every year at around the same time. It’s an annual thing so all of us know it’s coming, we just usually don’t know exactly when. But it looks like we do this time around thanks to the leak on Reddit.
That’s June 22, 10:20 pm – July 5, 10:35 pm Indian Standard Time.
The leaks were posted by a user who claimed to have taken the screenshot from a closed Steamworks developers group. As the name suggests, it’s a group only for developers. But, there are a lot of those on Steam, so we can’t really blame Valve for being unable to keep track of all them. It’s quite easy for users to get into developer groups if they get access via purchasing the game’s alpha or through other means like Kickstarter. Honestly, there’s so many such groups and members right now, it was just a matter of time before the dates would eventually leak.
However, that’s about all we know about this year’s Steam Summer Sale. No clue about what’s going on sale or if there’s anything new planned. Expect the usual big discounts and trading cards. Of course, Valve will want to highlight its new Discovery tool this time around as well.
Last year the sale took place between June 23 and July 4, so even if the leak turns out to be false, it’s more than likely that the sale will take place at around the same time regardless. Here’s to people spending money on heavily discounted games which will just sit in their libraries forever, never to be played.
