Shenmue 3

After kicking off a Kickstarter campaign at Sony’s presentation at E3 2015 yesterday, creator of the series Yu Suzuki was seeking $2 million to revive the forgotten series. And just a while ago, it completed its funding goal. Shenmue 3 not only broke the record to be the fastest game to complete the $1 million goal on Kickstarter but it also became the fastest game to reach the $2 million mark. According to the creators, they wanted to build it with the fans and hence started off a Kickstarter campaign.

Shenmue 3 is an open world action RPG game, and a sequel to the previous Shenmue 2 and Shenmue (obviously). Shenmue 2 was released 14 years ago and since then dedicated fans and the entire Shenmue community has been hopeful about a sequel. The game is built on the Unreal Engine 4 and will be made for the PC and PS4, rather than being a PS4 exclusive. The project still has 31 days left and will probably raise more money through their amazing fan base. The game will be released around December 2017.
