Old School Runescape, the popular browser-based MMO, will soon be playable on Android and iOS mobile devices.
Some of us here at SKOAR! have fond memories of Old School Runescape. For many, it was the first online MMO they ever played. Released back in 2007, Old School Runescape was a sandbox MMORPG that you played right on your browser. It was no WoW, but you could play for free and it was pretty huge. The game was notorious for just dropping you into the heat of things after just a short tutorial, which was great. Once you were done with the tutorial you could pretty much do whatever you wanted.
Runescape coming to mobile devices is pretty cool, even though most of us here no longer play the game (it has its issues), just the thought is pretty cool. Maybe some of us might even revisit. Who knows.
One of the advantages to the mobile versions, as Jagex put it, will be full cross-platform support with PC, meaning you can play where you left off on your mobile devices.
Mobile versions have been available in select countries for a while now, albeit, through a closed beta, but the game is set to fully release on October 30.
You will need Android Lollipop 5.0 or higher or iOS 10 or above in order to run Old School Runescape.
