Ghost theory is kickstarter project by Dreadlocks where you join a secret university research team in their hunt for the paranormal and the mysteries of the afterlife. The game is a single-player ghost hunting adventure with it’s focus lying on stealth and exploration. It will be a cross-platform game allowing for playability on the PC, Mac, Linux, PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One.

The game features a wide range of ghost hunting gadgets and real haunted sites from across the world. Each mission gives the player complete freedom to roam about, ‘an open-ended haunted ground – a playable sandbox with it’s own story waiting to be unearthed’, as stated by the developer. The player also has an ability called clairvoyance, which allows the player to see or experience flashbacks of an object’s history. This further aids the player in their research with clues or hints for their investigation.

Unlike most horror games where one would expect jump scares and ghosts popping out from every nook and cranny, in Ghost Theory, ghosts won’t be jumping out at you from the dark for no reason. In fact, the goal of the game is to make them come at you, your task is to figure out how.
