Forza Motorsport 7 is expected to be a whopping 100GB

July 6, 2017 — by Manish "Trigger-Happy" Rajesh0

we got a good glimpse of Forza Motorsport 7 at E3. And like all Forza games before it, it looks gorgeous. It's also HUGE.

If you guys were watching the Microsoft E3 presentation then you definitely got a good glimpse of what Forza Motorsport 7 is going to look like. Like with just about every Forza game in recent years, it looks absolutely amazing. So of course, we naturally assumed it’s going to take up a LOT of space. And considering the Xbox One X will have full 4K support, it’s gonna be huge. It is. Almost a whopping 100GB at that.

Most of us here have a data cap on our internets. Which will probably be about the size of this game. The situation will probably be around the same for PC, don’t expect it to be any smaller. You could actually expect it to be slightly bigger even.

A Microsoft rep has confirmed that the expected size on disk will indeed be 100GB, but the download size is expected to be “a bit smaller”. Wonder how much that ‘bit’ will be.

Another thing to take note of is that not all PCs will be able to run the game at 4K since there are so many different configurations. It wouldn’t make sense for everyone to have to download the massive 100GB regardless of whether it’ll actually run or not. But there’s been nothing about that so far.

Forza Motorsport 7 PC specifications:

In case you’re wondering, here are the specs you’ll need to be able to run Forza Motorsport 7 on PC:

Minimum:
OS: Windows 10 x64.
DirectX: DirectX 12 API, Hardware Feature Level 11.
Memory: 8 GB.
Video Memory: 2 GB.
Processor: Intel i5-750 2.67 GHz.
Graphics: NVIDIA GT 740 or NVIDIA GTX 650 or AMD R7 250X.

Recommended:

Memory: 8 GB.
Video Memory: 4 GB.
Processor: Intel i5 4460 3.2GHz.

Forza Motorsport is expected to come out on October 3. Upgrade your connections or be prepared to exhaust your data cap and wait a day or two if you’re planning to get it.
