After first seeing the game at E3 2016, Forza Horizon 3 was one of the standout games at the expo. And thanks to Microsoft’s “Play Anywhere” initiative we will be seeing Forza Horizon 3 release for Windows 10 along with the Xbox One.
Now that Forza Horizon 3 has gone gold, we’ve gotten our hands on the requirements for Forza on Windows. Keep in mind what we have here are only the recommended requirements, we still don’t know what the minimum or ultra requirements will be, but we’re sure you can take a guess after taking a look at the recommended requirements. So without further ado, the recommended specifications are as follows:
CPU: i7 3820 @ 3.6GHz
GPU: NVIDIA GTX 970 or NVIDIA GTX 1060/AMD R9 290X or AMD RX 480
Available Space: 55 GB
OS: Windows 10 Anniversary Edition 64-bit 14393.101
As you noticed, the Windows 10 Anniversary Edition is listed as a requirement. We don’t know yet if like Halo: Forge you won’t be able to run the game without it, but we will soon enough.
Microsoft’s Brian Ekberg posted, “Forza Horizon 3 players will have a tremendous amount of adjustment options when playing on Windows 10. From basic options like full screen, vertical sync, and resolution, to more advanced adjustments like quality settings for motion blur, mirrors, reflection, static and dynamic geometry, we’re giving Windows 10 players the power to play the way they want. Whether playing on the recommended specs or pushing the hardware limits to deliver the ultimate 4K racing experience, Forza Horizon 3 players will have lots of options for making the most of their experience.”
Additionally, they’re throwing a Warthog into the game as well. Yea the iconic vehicle from Halo – minus the turrets of course – will be driveable. Let’s hope it isn’t as much of a pain to drive as it is in Halo.
Forza Horizon 3 comes out on September 27th, and you’ll get it four days earlier if you pre-order the Ultimate Edition.
