For Honor free weekend and sale on the way

The third season of Ubisoft’s For Honor was recently announced and it will roll out along with the game’s two newest classes – the Gladiator and the Highlander. Two new classes were released during the previous season as well, they were the Centurion and Shinobi. The new season will also include 1v1 duel tournaments. They also announced a For Honor free weekend.

This is all well and good but it’s no secret knowledge that since the game’s release way back in February, the player base has dwindled drastically. As much as a 95 percent drop! Which is quite unfortunate because the game had great potential. Currently, the game barely touches 2000 active players who are probably tired of facing each other over and over again.

However, Ubisoft is hoping to alleviate that problem by announcing a free weekend for the game. So from 10:30 pm IST on the 10th of August till 1:30 am IST on the 16th of August, For Honor will be free to play. That’s a pretty long time and it’s a long weekend for most of us here. It should be more than enough to get a good feel for the game and even finish the single player campaign. You can start preloading the game on August 8. Additionally, any progress you make during the For Honor free weekend, you can carry over to the game should you decide to purchase it. Oh, it will also be on sale, to further sweeten the deal. The weekend also happens to be when the For Honor Hero Series finals take place. It will be streamed on Twitch at 11:30 pm IST on August 12.

In our opinion, this will definitely get more people to play and maybe even buy the game, but if the core problems that caused people to leave in the first place still remain, then the playbase will once again dwindle. Here’s hoping you don’t get matched against someone 3x times your level during the free weekend.
