Splinter Cell protagonist Sam Fisher is coming to Ghost Recon Wildlands in a special crossover event as part of Special Operation 1, which is the first major update of four planned updates for the second year of the Ghost Recon Wildlands. The Ghosts will be assigned to back Sam Fisher up as he recovers materials stolen from Langley. But they might also have a surprise for the rogue CIA agent.
The new mission will be a PvE type mission and will be playable both solo and co-op with teams of up to four players. The rewards will be exclusive items, including Sam Fisher’s famous goggles, for those who are able to complete the mission prior to the end of the challenge period.
While the mission itself will be available permanently, the rewards will not, and will only remain available until May 16.
With the update, you also have the Splinter Cell Gear Pack, which comes with the Karambit knife, and the SC4000 assault rifle. There’s also the new Echelon assault class for Ghost War PvP. The Echelon class will have abilities which let him see enemies behind walls at short range among other things.
Lastly, Ubisoft will be hosting a free weekend for Wildlands this coming weekend, from April 12 to April 15. Additionally, the game will be 67 percent off until April 23. The free weekend is not locked to anything and players will access to everything the game has to offer. Any progress you make during the free weekend will carry over if you decide to purchase the game.
Special Operation 1 kicks off later today, that is, April 10. Learn more here.
