DreamHack Mumbai 2018 day 2 – What went down

December 22, 2018 — by Skoar Harbinger0

Day 2 of DreamHack Mumbai came to an end today. Some of us got to the venue a little earlier than the first few events of the day and we were glad to see gamers passed out in the BYOC area. Glad in the sense, at least we know they enjoyed a full night of gaming. We’re sure the eventual loud music will wake them up and prep them for another night of LAN gaming madness.

DreamHack Invitational

The day started off with the DreamHack Invitational at 10AM. The first half of the day was dedicated to Dota 2, while the evening, starting 4:30 onward was dedicated to CS:GO. Currently, local teams are competing for their chance to play against the visiting International teams tomorrow, on the final day of DreamHack.

PUBG Skirmish

The PUBG Skirmish was also in full swing today. PUBG Mobile’s popularity was quite evident with the number of viewers who had gathered up around the big screen near the tournament area. We also spent a while watching the games and we have to say, they’re quite gripping to watch, especially with the convenient spectator options that we have available now. The finals for the solo and squad games will also take place tomorrow. The first solo game started at around 12pm, following by a squad game, and then round two of solo, round two of squad and so on.

KO Fight Night

The fighting tournament KO Fight Night featuring titles such as Street Fighter 5, Tekken 7, and Super Smash bros was taking place pretty much directly opposite the PUBG Skirmish area, which was unfortunately stealing all the eyeballs. Dedicated fighting game fans could still be seen cheering their favorites on, and the matches were pretty intense.

MOAR cosplay

DreamHack Mumbai

There were two rounds of the cosplay competition today as well, one at 3pm and the other at 8pm which was immediately followed by a performance by DJ Shaan, which pretty much rounds up the day. Of course, the BYOC area will remain open all night. Even though there’s no sleeping area, you know us gamers, sleep is for the weak.

That was it was day 2, stay tuned for day 3 of DreamHack Mumbai.
