The storyline in Little Big City 2 is interesting and the mayor is a former star of a soap opera who bought an island and doesn’t quite know how to run it.
Little Big City 2 is the latest iteration of the ever popular city building game, several versions of which populate the market. The basics of the game remain the same; you build a city from scratch, essentially trading in time for resources. These resources will help you build houses, factories, parks and other paraphernalia required for a city.
The graphics in this game are gorgeous and approach the quality of the graphics in SimCity Buildit, the leader of this category. One innovative twist is the ability to decided whether you want to build a city for the future, an industrial city or one which is a centre for the arts. The game will delight those who are fans of this genre and those who have never tried it out before.
However, if city builders are not for you, stay away. Also, if you have ever played Sim City or Cities Skyline, this mobile version will remain deeply unsatisfactory because it is closer to FarmVille than it is to those legends. Little Big City 2 is good for a quick fix of low maintenance city building and works well as a game that you can check periodically and grow over the course of months. There are even a few mini-games incorporated within the game. These include a sea traffic manager and a simpler one where you just tap.
The storyline and characters are mildly interesting and the mayor is a former star of a soap opera who bought an island and doesn’t quite know how to run it. The citizens need some resources, as do the local businesses, and a major part of the game is about building capacity and maintaining supply levels in order to fulfill the demands of your citizens. Play this game for what is the most complete city-building experience available on the mobile platform.
