E3 2016 PS4 GAMES
King of Fighters XIV
King of Fighters is an arcade style fighting game, like Tekken or Street Fighter. The King of Fighters series has been around for a long time and has a solid fan following. It’s been around for a long time, as you can clearly tell from the number of titles, this one being number 14 from the main series. The game is known for it’s 2D art style but King of Fighters XIV will be the first of the series to be rendered completely in 3D.
Nioh is a game that boasts being harder than Dark Souls. You read that right, harder than Dark Souls. From whatever gameplay we’ve seen so far, it definitely seem that way. It also looks like it will be faster paced and features various combat-based customisations. It should definitely sate the new breed of hardcore gamers out there who crave a challenge.
Persona 5 is what we call a classic JRPG. The Persona series has an almost cult-like following and for a reason. We doubt you’d find an experience like the one you get with a Persona game anywhere else, and that’s saying something. From whatever we’ve seen of Persona 5 so far, it looks like we’re in for another crazy ride. Persona style.
Horizon Zero Dawn
Horizon Zero Dawn is set in a futuristic world that’s ruled by mechanized dinosaurs. You can double check if you want, we said mechanised dinosaurs. It’s got action and RPG elements with gameplay similar to a hybrid between an Elder Scrolls game and Assassin’s Creed. But there’s a catch, Horizon Zero Dawn is releasing as a PlayStation exclusive, and we’re stingy about exclusives, it better be worth all that exclusiveness.
Final Fantasy XV
Final Fantasy is the first thing that comes to mind when you think JRPG. And if you’ve been paying attention, it’s been awhile since there was a decent Final Fantasy title. FFXV, will fortunately be a single player games. From the tidbits that Square has shown us so far, the game looks gorgeous and the new combat style also looks amazing. FFXV looks like a promising title and we’ll be seeing a livestream come E3.
The Last Guardian
Yet another PS4 exclusive title, The Last Guardian features a little boy who befriends a.. dog/cat/bird thing?.. whatever, it’s called Trico. We’re just going to assume that Trico is the last guardian. The game is an action puzzler of sorts where you need to manipulate Trico into following you and get rid of obstacles and enemies along the way to progress.
Heey! Another exclusive title (is this becoming a trend now?). Nier: Automata is an upcoming action-RPG, which is set in the Nier universe. We don’t know much about it either to be honest. But the trailers looked really good and we couldn’t resist putting it on this list. Other than looking graphically impressive, the game looks like it’ll have an intriguing storyline as well, coupled with interesting gameplay featuring multiple characters.
Skylar and Plux: Adventure on Clover Island
Skylar and Plux attempts to appeal to our nostalgia with its old school charm. It worked well with Ratchet and Clank so why not? We’re open to trying everything. Skylar and Plux will be a 3D platformer, with a bright and vibrant, cartoony aesthetic. It definitely stands out in comparison to most of the other titles being showcased at E3. Bonus points for that!
We first heard of For Honor at the 2015 E3 where it was unveiled as a multiplayer, sword-fighting, medieval themed game. Ubisoft Montreal has announced that it will be revealing a lot of new information regarding For Honor this E3. Since the reveal last E3, Ubisoft Montreal has confirmed that the game will have a single player campaign and not be a solely multiplayer game as thought when it was first revealed.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance
Kingdom Come: Deliverance is hoping to give players the most realistic and historically accurate representation of medieval times yet. It will be an RPG but will not feature any classes or races or magic or any of the fantasy based stuff we’re so accustomed to from an RPG. Everything from clothes, to combat armor, to combat style, and architecture is going to attempt to stay true and accurate to the medieval era. Sounds interesting to say the least, but only time will tell how that turns out.
