Final fantasy fans, Square Enix has heard your prayers! The trailer for the much awaited PS4 remake of Final Fantasy VII : Remake has been released during the Playstation Experience 2015 event and can now be viewed on YouTube.
According to an article from The Verge, It has been confirmed by Sqare Enix that this version of Final Fantasy VII will be released in an episodic format which might come as a bummer for some of the fans. According to the developers, the game will be “told across a multi-part series, with each entry providing its own unique experience.”
The reason for this breakdown? According to Yoshinori Kitase, a developer for the original game, “if we took everything that’s in the original game and remade it at that quality, we couldn’t get it all on a single release.” This is certainly a boon considering the game will take over 220 hours to beat, according to a Gamelengths report.
Square Enix’s trailer showcases the familiar visages of Cloud Strife and his gigantic Buster Sword, his friend of old times Tifa Lockheart, and all the classic characters a true fan should expect – all in a remastered high-definition graphic environment. We must admit, it had us smashing the reply button more than once.
There’s no official release date for this remastered version, but if your hands are itching to put a Buster Sword to good use, you can play the normal port on the PS4 right now. Fans of the Final Fantasy series will know what we are talking about. On the contrary if you want the full Final Fantasy VII experience combined with the power of Unreal Engine 4, we suggest you wait it out for this version. Trust us, it’ll be worth it.
