There’s a new Mass Effect Andromeda trailer out which showcases the game’s seven ‘Golden Worlds,’ which is also what the new trailer happens to be called. The new Mass Effect Andromeda trailer reveals new information about the journey to the Andromeda Galaxy and the colonisation process for when you get to one of these seven ‘Golden Worlds.’ The trailer goes on to mention what the duty of the pathfinder and the pathfinder team is when it comes to colonising the new planets.

Just like previous Mass Effect titles, it looks like minerals and resource gathering will play a big role. In order to function, the Nexus Station requires “vast quantities of helium-3, water, ice, and Element Zero.” As you gather more resources, more of the Nexus can be utilised and more of the colonists can be awakened from cryo-sleep. In case you’re wondering about why the Nexus Station needs you to gather BOTH water and ice, we’re wondering too. Thought we already had the tech to turn one into the other and back… oh well.

The new Mass Effect Andromeda trailer also highlights the fact that the new worlds might also already be occupied. These could anything from hostile alien life to settled life forms. As pathfinder, it’s your job to “investigate these planets to determine their viability. This includes everything from pacifying unforeseen threats and allying with potential indigenous populations, to solving environmental problems in an attempt to secure physical placement for settlement outposts.”

We’re all really excited about Andromeda. While the multiplayer beta for the game was cancelled, there will be a trial available for members with Origin subscriptions starting from  March 16. Mass Effect: Andromeda is set to release on March 21 in North America and March 23 in Europe.
